I'm a fifty something mom and grandma and I grew up in and around Mesa and have been here all my life. I have been married to my husband Hoke for almost 34 years and have 2 children. They are both grown and married and have families of their own. I have a dog, a turtles, 2 cockatiels, 4 love birds, 4 chickens, about 20 parakeets and a pretty much crazy but wonderful life.
I have loved sewing and crafts since my Junior High School days, and have always liked decorating my home & helping others decorate.
About 15 years ago, out of necessity, I learned how to upholster furniture. I found these two horribly awful wing chairs, curbside, but they had great "bones" and were very sturdy. My first project was not the best, but they looked so much better & made me so happy when they were done-Thus began my "Salvage-chic" quest.
The whole joy for me is finding cast-out items and making them useable & loveable once again. I truly find satisfaction in re-purposing things and sharing them with others.
Since my decorating style is "salvage" it's very reasonable and makes it possible for others to enjoy also.
I have many wonderful friends & family members that know my salvage quest compulsion and they are continually sending items my way. I also love to thrift store shop & beat the trucks on trash pick up day.
I hope you enjoy my furniture & home decor as much as I do and can find a piece to love in your home.
